The desired specifications for this school awning was to provide cover for up to a hundred children so that the school could meet its’ requirements for teaching outdoors while providing solar protection for the children and shelter from sudden showers.
The Model Markilux M5010 school awning was selected and it covers a span of 3500 mm over a total length of 25 meters.
A previously unforseen advantage gained from this Deans installation was the provision for shelter for parents picking up their children at the end of the school day
Over the past few years Deans have been increasingly asked to provide awnings for shade and solar control in school playgrounds and for nurseries. Deans range of school awnings and sun blinds can be attached to the building or be free standing. Where required, all-weather school awnings, such as the Pergotenda, will provide the additional advantage of being useful as an outdoor teaching area.
Solar protection for school children has become an essential in the fight against over-exposure to the sun including the risk of skin cancer and awnings for schools will reduce this risk
Government guidelines suggest the provision of these outside teaching areas and solar control solutions by using Deans school awnings will allow to schools to integrate outside areas with the building to provide an attractive and encouraging educational environment whilst protecting students from the sun’s harmful rays.
